Description
The concept of Cloud Computing has developed rapidly over the course of the past few
years, and is perceived by practitioners and thought leaders as either the “next big thing”, or
“just another name for distributed computing”. While we won’t take sides in this debate, we will
develop a framework for thinking about how business can take advantage of the Cloud.

Specifically, our approach is to look at the enabling factors of the Cloud, from a variety of
perspectives, including the following:
• The Cloud as a Platform (Michael Cusumano, Marshall Van Alstyne)
• The Economics of the Cloud (Erik Brynjolfsson)
• Enterprise 2.0 and the Cloud (Andrew McAfee)
• Security and the Cloud (Michael Siegel)
• The Customer and the Cloud (Glen Urban)
